International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Today we’re shining a light on a few of the inspirational women within our Village, for International Women’s Day.

Natasha is the owner of Alterations Now at Corio Village.

To Natasha, International Women’s Day represents what all women have done together to get to the amazing place they’re at today. She said it’s important to acknowledge and honour the importance of the contributions of women, so young girls around the world can step into greatness by following the example of women.

Natasha’s role models growing up were her Mum, her friends and Coco Chanel – a French fashion designer and businesswoman. Following in Coco Chanel’s footsteps, Natasha turned her love of fashion, sewing and tailoring into a career for herself.

The advice Natasha wants to offer young women who are considering a career like hers simply is to ‘do it’! She said it’s fun to learn and although it can be challenging the longer you stick at it the better you will get.
