Covid-19 Update – Victoria State Wide Circuit Breaker Lockdown

Please see below the relevant restrictions in place when visiting Corio Village Shopping Centre, as per the Premiers announcement on Friday the 12th of February 2021.

As of 11.59pm on the 12th of February 2021 until 11:59 pm Wednesday the 17th of February 2021 stage 4 restrictions will be reimplemented across all of Victoria.

These restrictions mean there are only four reasons to leave your home: shopping for the things you need, care and caregiving, exercise, and work, if it is essential.

Face masks will need to be worn indoors and outdoors – whenever you leave home, unless you have a medical exemption.

All non-essential retail will also close, but essential stores like supermarkets, bottle shops and pharmacies will remain open.

Under Stage 4 restrictions only the following retail are considered Essential Providers and may remain open. All other / general retail will be closed.

  • Supermarkets, grocery stores, bakeries, butchers, fruit and vegetable stores
  • Bottle shops
  • Financial institutions (Banks)
  • Post Office
  • Newsagent
  • Pharmacy
  • Dentists & Optometrists
  • Petrol Station
  • Vehicle and mechanical repairs services
  • Those that can offer a “Click and Deliver “service
  • Medical Centres
  • A restaurant or café but only to the extent provides takeaway meals or drinks or a meal delivery service.

The Centre continues to take additional cleaning precautions to ensure that Corio Village remains a safe environment for customers to visit for everyday goods and services.  In line with Government guidelines for stopping the spread of infectious diseases, we ask all customers to observe good hygiene practices at all times.

This includes adhering to the following Covid Safe Guidelines:

  • Wear a mask or face covering when you leave your premises
  • Stay at home if you feel sick or unwell
  • Practice social distancing
  • Cough and sneeze into tissue or elbow
  • Practice good hand and general hygiene
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Utilise hand sanitisation products where available.

Covid-19 Update

Thanks to the efforts of every Victorian, we are moving to the Last Step of reopening. With continued adherence to the Victorian Government’s guidelines, we aim to keep Corio Village a Covid-Safe environment for both our retailers and the wider community to enjoy.

Last Step Restrictions 

Last Step restrictions apply in Victoria as per Victoria Government directives. Restrictions are outlined as follows:

  • Shops are open. Limits apply to the number of customers who can be in a store at one time. This limit is to ensure everyone can keep 1.5 metres distance.
  • Hairdressers and barbers, beauty therapy, tanning, waxing, nail salons, spas, tattoo studios and massage parlours can open. If you are undergoing treatment that cannot be performed with a face mask on, you may remove your face mask during the procedure. Limits apply to the number of customers who can attend.
  • Gaming facilities, including TAB and KENO facilities can open in both retail and licensed premises subject to relevant restrictions. In licensed premises, patrons must remain seated unless they are placing a bet, purchasing food or drinks, using the toilet or entering or leaving the venue.
  • Indoor food courts are limited to up to 50% seated capacity, with 1 person per 8 square metres.
  • Restaurants and cafes can open for outdoor and indoor seated service of food or drink. Indoor seated service for up to 150 people depending on the size of the venue. Outdoor seated service for up to 300 people (with a total venue limit of 300). There is no limit on the size of the group you can sit or dine with.
  • For hospitality venues with less than 200sqm of floorspace indoors, the two square metre rule should be applied indoors with up to of 50 patrons allowed. QR codes must be used for venues using the small indoor venue density quotient. For venues with 200sqm of indoor floorspace or larger, the four square metre rule must be applied with up to 150 patrons allowed.
  • Market stalls are  Limits apply to the number of customers who can attend.
  • Shops need to limit the number of customers and follow signage and cleaning recommendations. To keep everyone safe, pay attend to the limits of each shop. Small shops will have smaller limits.You might need to wait your turn to enter a shop.
  • There are no restrictions on travel between regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne. Businesses in regional Victoria can serve people who live in metropolitan Melbourne. There is no requirement to check ID or addresses or refuse service to people from metropolitan Melbourne.

What actions do I need to take when shopping?

Before you leave home: 

  • If you feel unwell and have any symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) stay home, seek medical advice and get tested. Stay home while you wait for your test result.

Masks

Face masks remain mandatory in some settings, unless you have a lawful reason not to wear one.

  • Face masks are no longer mandatory when you are outdoors, if you can stay 1.5 metres away from people that you don’t live with.
  • Use of face masks outdoors is required if you are unable to stay further than 1.5 metres away from people you don’t live with, such as at public transport stations, outdoor markets, walkways and thoroughfares. Face masks remain mandatory when indoors – for example a shopping centre, the supermarket or on public transport.
  • You must continue to carry a face mask with you at all times.

When you are out shopping: 

  • Wash or sanitise your hands regularly
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow
  • Wear a face mask when indoors
  • Wear a face mask outdoors when you cannot maintain at least 1.5 metres distance from other people, such as at outdoor markets
  • Respect the customer limits in place at each shop
  • Keep at least 1.5 metres distance between yourself and others, including while queuing
  • Avoid crowded indoor areas like parking ticket machines, lifts, escalators and entrances as much as possible
  • Wash your hands when you get home

Third Step Restrictions

Third Step restrictions apply in Victoria and are listed below:

  • Hairdressers and barbers, beauty therapy, tanning, waxing, nail salons, spas, tattoo parlours and massage parlours can open.  They can only offer services where a face mask can be worn by the client for the duration of the service. Limits apply to the number of customers who can attend.
  • Gaming facilities, including TAB and KENO facilities can open in both retail and licensed premises subject to relevant restrictions. In licensed premises, patrons must remain seated unless they are placing a bet, purchasing food or drinks, using the toilet or entering or leaving the venue.
  • Limits apply to the number of customers who can be in a store at one time. This limit on customers is in place to ensure everyone can keep 1.5 metres distance.

COVID-19 Update

Regional Victoria will move to Step 3 as of 11:59pm on Wednesday the 16th of September, 2020.

We are so excited to welcome everyone back to the centre and with continued adherence to the Victorian Government’s guidelines, we aim to keep the Village a Covid-Safe environment for both our retailers and the community to enjoy.

What does this mean?

In-Centre Dining

  • Indoor service for up to 10 people per space, in a maximum of two spaces, and 4sq m density rule
  • Food Court seating is to remain closed until further notice.

Retail & Beauty

  • Retail stores re-open
  • Hairdressing and beauty services allowed for services where a face covering can be worn for the duration of service

The Centre continues to take additional cleaning precautions to ensure that Corio Village remains a safe environment for customers to visit for everyday goods and services.  In line with Government guidelines for stopping the spread of infectious diseases, we ask all customers to observe good hygiene practices at all times.

Corio Village Shopping Centre will remain open for all your essential products and services, but we please ask you to abide by the Victorian Government’s guidelines to remain at home as much as possible. Staying apart keeps us together.

The Centre continues to take additional cleaning precautions to ensure that Corio Village remains a safe environment for customers to visit for everyday goods and services.  In line with government guidelines for stopping the spread of infectious diseases, we ask all customers to observe good hygiene practices at all times.  Wash your hands with soap regularly, avoid personal contact with other non-family members, avoid touching your face and utilise hand sanitisation products where available.

COVID-19 Update

A note to the Corio Community:

On Tuesday the 11th of August we were informed by the Barwon Health CoVid Contact Tracing Team that there had been a number of positive cases within the Corio area.

In consultation with the DHHS & Barwon Health and as a precautionary measure we completed a full deep sanitisation clean of the Shopping Centre overnight.

Our community’s health and wellbeing remain a top priority for us and we continue to take the ongoing situation very seriously. Throughout we have maintained strict adherence to ongoing Coronavirus safety measures within our centre that currently include:

  • Continued and increased cleaning and sanitising of areas and surfaces that are frequently touched by customers or staff.
  • The availability of hand sanitisers stations at key locations
  • Awareness posters and regular PA announcements reminding people of social distancing and to wear a face mask when leaving home
  • Observing a 1.5 metre physical distance from each other
  • Takeaway food / drink available only from our cafés and restaurants.
  • The food court seating area will also remain closed until further advised by the authorities.
  • All Seating removed from Common Mall Areas

We also recommend If anyone is planning on attending the Shopping Centre and you feel unwell or have any associated symptoms of Coronavirus you should stay home, seek medical advice, and get tested.

COVID-19 Update – Stage 3 Restrictions

Corio Village Shopping Centre will see changes take place on Thursday in line with the State Government Stage 3 Restrictions as follows:

  • Face masks/ coverings are mandatory when you leave your property unless you have a medical condition.
  • You must comply with social distancing regulations and try to keep at 1.5m distance from other shoppers.
  • Beauty therapy, tanning, waxing, nail services, massages (relaxation massages) and spa services are no longer permitted, with the exception of remedial massages and hairdressers.
  • Closure of gaming facilities (TAB).
  • All food outlets to serve takeaway only.

The following measure will remain in place:

  • The removal of food court seating
