Specsavers Limited Edition Fred Hollows Frame Launch

Thu, 12th Nov 2020 - Thu, 31st Dec 2020

Specsavers have again joined forces with The Fred Hollows Foundation to launch two limited edition frames, this year featuring the artwork of contemporary Aboriginal artist Rheanna Lotter. Available online from Thursday 5 November and in-store nationwide from Thursday 12 November, the limited edition range includes both optical and prescription sunglass styles, with $25 from each sale donated to help improve eye health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

Why are we introducing these frames?

Our limited edition frame range aims to close the gap in vision loss between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and other Australians. With a dedicated donation of $25 from each sale, we’re aiming to raise $125,000 to help improve eye health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

About the frames

Both the optical and sun frames are available at the two for $199 price point. They are presented in a custom case with a unique lens cloth that also features the artwork by Rheanna.

About the artist

Rheanna Lotter is passionate about Aboriginal art and its ability to tell stories. As a proud Yuin woman, she finds painting to be a great way to connect to her culture. Rheanna has been painting from a young age, and created her art business. Ngandabaa, in 2014. The name means Red Belly Snake, which was her grandfather’s totem and nickname. The term ‘Ngandabaa’ is featured on the inside of the temple of the frames.

About the artwork

The art featured on our limited edition frames is called ‘Saltwater Dreamin’ and is a story about the importance of taking care of our waterways and environment for future generations.

“This painting shows our incredible waterways. We must always remember the importance of caring for them and it’s our job to ensure we maintain and sustain our environment for future generations.” – Rheanna Lotter

Launching in store from 12 November for a limited time only.
